It's 9:30 p.m. Friday evening. Tomorrow, we will hit 10,000 members, more than 10% of the population of The Villages. WHO WILL BE NUMBER 10,000?

Although a small percentage of our members actually post, we have 28,000 page views a day.

Thanks to all of you who are members, posters, visitors, and lurkers at Talk of The Villages. I think we have become a significant factor in life at The Villages.

I wish I owned a business that serves Villages residents, I would want to advertise on Talk of The Villages. Do you see those little Google ads at the very bottom of our pages. Google tells us that last month their ads were viewed on talk of the Villages 1,252,234 times. WHEW!!!!!!!

WOW!!
Those are really impressive numbers. If I owned or managed a business in TV and didn't advertise, silly statement, I'd certainly be watching for any comments about me, my staff or my operation. This group could be a significant factor.

Congratulations to all of us.

Congrats, TH, Tony and DK. You are doing a splendid job and it shows.
If you want confirmation that we have become a "significant factor in the life of TV", I can give you some definite examples of that.

Recently I have been involved with some of the entertainment issues around the villages, mostly with the restaurants and CC's. Almost all of the owners, GM's or managers have asked me to post something on TOTV as it will carry a lot of weight for them. They also have told me that they read our forum and are very well aware of the power it has. I feel so proud to be a member of this group and am very pleased when these business people rely on us to help them with their business and are hoping we can help them be successful in entertaining us Villagers.

They have good intentions but unfortunately, the Village management gives them a very hard time and create a lot of barriers in their way to give us good service and let us have fun. I will post something separately about this in a few days. We need to get behind our retailers and restaurants.

(Kathie's off her soapbox for now)......

Hi Tony and Darryl - althought I am fairly new to TOTV (approximately a year now) I want to congratulate you on reaching a membership of 10,000 - what an accomplishment! I also want to express my gratitude to you for the opportunity to have this forum available to me and the other 9,999 members.
Without a doubt this forum was instrumental in my decision to visit TV and then to make it my next home. I have asked many questions here, & have received valuable information from this list. I have learned a great deal from the membership and from you. So again, let me thank you and applaud all of your hard work and effort on our behalf. I would imagine that a great deal of the members will want to post a hugh congrats to you on reaching this milestone, right guys!

Betty

:

I want to thank y'all for such a great site. I have made so many friends on here and in chat that when we visit TV in December we will already have friends there.

Keep up the good work.

TH, do we get to know who the 10,000th member is or would that be some kind of violation of privacy? You ought to give them some kind of a tag under their screen name that says something about them being the 10,000th member.

Great job by all of those who run these forums. You do a fantastic job. Keep it up.

I also think golfercarrie is the 10,000th.

Wonder if we have a consensus?

I didn't happen to see who 10,000 was but I'll take your word for it. Thanks to all for the nice comments and support. TOTV has a great bunch of folks that for sure.

DK.

I think you are right, golfercarrie seems to be 10,000. It's kinda like being the New Years Baby. Only no prizes.

If golfercarrie ever makes it to TV we should hold a Happy 10,000th TOTV Member party!

golfercarrie, if you're out there a big hello to you.
