Default Moving Companies

I'm in the process of building, and contemplating my move mid-June. I have contacted a number of moving companies, and have decided to pack it myself. My question: does anyone have any experience with companies such as PODS? I realize there are less expensive companies, and would like to get some opinions: who does the best job sticking to schedules, etc. ? I understand there are guys in the sales office that moonlight unloading trailers. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I was sold on PODS - had already made reservations - and then started to panic about what I would do if I couldn't fit everything in. A second PODS would about double the price. Also I was concerned about having to pack glassware, dishes, mirrors and pictures properly. In the end I opted for a moving company - more expensive (by about $1500) but my goal is to make my move as stress-free as possible so I think it was worth it.

So if you are sure all your things will fit I think PODS is a great option otherwise you may want to consider a mover.

we used the u-packit from abs trucking.
from cleveland ohio to tv.
all wenbt very well and nothing was broken and arrived on time with great service. painless and stress free.
with the cost of fuel their rates are good and worth it.

We spent about $1,000 for a moving company over using pods - all we had to do was stand back while four movers wrapped furniture and loaded it with the boxes we loaded. On this end they unloaded everything to where we wanted it and set up the furniture.

Well worth the extra bucks and I didn't have to ice my back for two weeks.

I'm also looking at U-Pack (I'm coming from Girard OH). They are way cheaper than PODS.
