Default Which Vehicle Do You Prefer?

Hello,

Wondering which vehicle you feel is best for a couple living full time in TV?

We will have one vehicle and 1 golf cart. Not sure if we should have short term visitors rent their own car and are interested in your experiences.

Thank you

My personal opinion would be to have them rent a golf cart. Cheaper but much more importantly I think it's by far the best way to get a better experience of what The Villages is truly about. Get them a $5 map from the welcome center or Banner Mercantile and turn them loose. Exploring is half the fun!!!!

We can fit four comfortably in our Chrysler 200, and more importantly, it's high enough off the ground to exit the car from the backseat without breaking your back. Gets 30-32 mpg, which is better than my Audi Quattro did (and which was impossible to get out of, back AND front).

My friend with grandchildren wants to go to one car and a golf cart. She wants a mini van, which seems like a good idea if you have grandchildren visiting.

Does anyone have experience getting out of the backseat of a Prius?

we prefer our Chevy Tahoe and a golf cart.
Golf cart for the usual local stuff and of course golf.

The Tahoe for many reasons. One may have to hold a handle to get up; front or back. Getting out is easier just step down. It is higher than most other vehicles and I like the visibility.
It is large enough to survive most crashes....especially the ones created by some of the oblivious to their surroundings, like too many are in FL.

We travel a lot and the Tahoe is the right vehicle for our road trips. All wheel drive to handle the unpleasant weather where ever we may be.

And if you are looking for mileage the Tahoe is not your vehicle.

I personally would not be providing a vehicle other than a golf cart to renters.

I think what they meant was should they have a car big enough to handle both them and their visitors, or should they just have their visitors rent their own car.

We currently have a Honda Odyssey and a golf cart. Works well for our road trips and for showing guests around TV. We are on our third Honda---nothing but regular maintenance.

Sometimes we borrow a golf cart from friends under a reciprocal arrangement for our guests to use a couple of days. We let our guests use our Cart and we use our friends cart.

Since this is a reciprocal arrangement I wonder how that affects your insurance if you have any on your golf cart?

We do almost all our driving in our golf cart. When we have guests then our car. If there are more than 3 guests then we take their car and ours. I'm not paying thousands more for a van or suv to haul guests around once every 3 years of so.
