Default What can we see?

The Lifestyle Preview Plan was not available, but we still would like to see what the Villages have to offer. We will be coming down on February 9th and returning home on the 15th. We have reservations at the Waterfront Inn.
We are not interested in using any of the facilities, but would like to see the various recreation centers and the country clubs.
Will we be able to walk through these? Is there anything that you suggest that we look at while we are here?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You should have no problems walking through any of the facilities to check things out. Visit the town squares, including what's been done to-date at Brownwood. Take in some of the free entertainment at the squares in the evenings. Talk with people - virtually everyone is more than willing to chat it up. Find out about what they have to say about various things re: TV. Take the "trolley tour". Go to some open houses. Head south of 466A to see some of the new construction of homes that's underway.

You'll never be able to take it all in during a single visit. Enjoy yourselves!!!

Lots of info on TOTV that you can sift through as well. A great venue to learn things about TV!

You can walk through the recreation centers, you can go to all the country clubs, you can go to any of the open houses, visit the town squares and eat in any of the restaurants, and I would believe you could take the trolly tour. If you engage with a Villages real estate agent, he may be able to get you a few more things. Might want to try and rent a golf cart for a few days to experience that aspect of the Villages. If you know anyone there, ask them to get you guest passes, they are no cost for them, then you could go to Katie Bells and the pools as well.

There is a sales office in downtown Lake Sumter landing. (very close to the Waterfront Inn, near Panera's Bakery.) Feel free to walk in and tell them what you have in mind. They will guide you without any hard sales push.

Keep in mind that much of the special ambiance of The Villages is experienced by golf car, on beautifully manicured paths that often take you 'up close' to much of the beauty here.

Hope you have a great time!

I would rent a golf cart even if only for a day just to get a feel of what it's like to experience TV that way

Also, try to take in a show at the Savannah Center or Church on the Square. The ticket office is right behind the theater in Sumter Landing, one block from your hotel. Call to reserve a golf cart. They're short in season. By all means look at the Daily Sun for anything else going on.

I agree -- you should be able to park a golf cart in the parking lot of the Waterfront Inn -- I saw more than one golf cart parked there when I stayed there in 2010. Hope you enjoy your stay in The Villages! And don't hesitate to ask questions while you are in TV. Most people are glad to talk about their life in TV.

Take the golf cart and explore some of the established communities such as Glenbrook, Caroline, Virginia Trace, and Mallory Hill. Do not just concentrate on the new homes.

If you are going to look at homes, remember that Villages Properties agents can show only homes listed by Villages Properties and outside Village (MLS agents from Realty Executives, ERA, etc) can show only MLS listings. It is no secret that you should see both agents to get the full showings. There is no reason to keep it a secret from the agents. They all know that goes on a regular basis.

The resales are generally a better deal because you can negotiate price and the bond is generally a lot lower.
