My exterior controller on the garage door frame stopped working. I didn't realize it is battery operated. It was hard to extract and replace the 9V battery but afterwards it works fine.

Ours stopped working too. I ordered a new one online from Amazon, here the next day, easy installation and battery included.

It sounds like you are referring to the handheld remote or the outside wall number pad. Those use a battery. But the OP needs the inside wall console unit which does not use a battery. The MVP wall console is a product that has been discontinued and is very difficult to find online.

My favorite feature of the MVP openers is when my neighbor comes home and tries to open his door, but another neighbor’s door with an MVP opener opens.

Default Wall Control Consol

Unplugged the unit from the ceiling. Two screws held it into the garage wall. Then a white and a blue thin wire connected it to the wiring. After disconnecting those two wires, and writing down which one went where.. the unit was free.

Next there were eight small screws holding the circuit board in the casing, as well as the two screws that had held the power wires.

After removing the 10 screws the board came free and now I could remove the board and get to the front of the unit. The rubbery cover that has the buttons pulled off easily. There are tiny posts that fit into little holes in the board so it will go back exactly right later.

I found that the circuit board where the up and down buttons pushed had a black rubbery residue where the push button pads made contact. So I very gently wiped that residue off carefully not scratching the board. Got about 70% off with just a paper towel and quit as I didn't want to damage the circuit board. No chemical cleaner, just a touch of water on a paper towel.

Replace parts in reverse order. Attach the two power wires, screw back into the wall and put the plug back in the outlet. And so far, it is working nicely. YMMV

Obviously this is not a permanent solution.
Thanks, I'm having the same problem. I'll try your repair notes.

I also set the door to close at 10PM if it's open in case I forget to close it. And it also included an outdoor keypad and has the high security rolling codes.
Who installed the new Chamberlain and what was the cost to install it?

Scott, 352-697-0321, told me he would provide and install one for $350, but that was about a year ago. I would recommend the belt drive instead of a chain drive. Quieter.

These are easy to install (DIY), the instructions are very good, and it is possible to reuse the existing wiring which cuts down the install time. I did my own, then ended up helping several neighbors with theirs. Send me a PM if you would like to discuss further.

I did my own install. It’s pretty straightforward

Default Happy New Year's

Tinkerer,
You Sir really give some great advice as well helpful hints to all.
I Appreciate and admire what you are doing as I try to do the same in my neighborhood. Being from Pa. Myself we (Pennsultuckins) tend to be an asset to our community.
I don't live in the TV but I have good Friends that live there so we visit occasionally. Happy New Year's to you and yours.
