Question MVP Garage door opener

Just purchased a home in Fenney with an MVP Garage door opener, unfortunately there is no remote.
The opener is discontinued and I can't find a replacement. I am looking for 2 either replacements or a compatible substitute.

thanks in advance.

Which remote? One on outside garage door or the one carry around? If one carry around was bunch on eBay couple months ago? If it’s the garage door entry control panel by inside door it’s obsolete. Good luck finding that one.

Do you have the door pad controller inside the garage? That’s one that’s obsolete.

Default Garage Door Opener

Save yourself a bunch on time. I just went thru this my old MVP inside control panel was needing replaced. As everyone has said no luck finding one. Just decided to replace the opener. I went with Florida Garage Door Pros when you call they will come out the same day and replace the opener. I have a extra wide very heavy door so I went with the 3/4 horse Genie Opener. Installed with 3 remotes and outside remote opener total cost was $800.

Gary,

It is fairly easy to replace the entire opener with a new opener, I have done this on 5 or 6 neighbors I used Champion brand, and if you want real quiet operation the belt drive are excellent. A full blown opener with battery backup and wifi capability was around $300. While my knees do not like this work, I can advise if your doing it yourself, and I can give a hand with some of the work.

You can call Romac 362 753 3333 and see if they have the one you need. I need a new 3 button MVP Allstar hand held remote so I am going there to buy it. 722 Duck Lake Rd, Lady Lake, Romac building supply co is located there. Off of Rolling Acres Rd.

The opener you have should have a learn button, correct?
1st thing any new homeowner should do (new home or especially a used home) is to clear the codes stored in your opener. Right now people who have your remotes and who have setup their cars homelink devices can open your garage door, not good. Same thing for a new house, you don’t know if any of the contractors copied your remote codes so they can open your garage door.

Back to your current issue. If your garage door has a learn button,. You don’t need the original remote. You might not need any remote. Do your current cars have homelink setup from your last house? If so, press the learn button on the garage door opener and then hold down the homelink button in your car until the garage door opener flashes its light, then stop pressing the homelink button in the car. Now press the homelink button in your car and it should operate the door.
If no homelink setup, I can sell you a remote that you can use to program your garage door opener and your homelink button in your car.
