Default My Opinion

When I read a thread where someone expresses an opinion about a topic, no matter how it is stated, it seems to be considered, " A complaint!" especially if it is regarding The Villages. Are you telling me that everyone is 100 percent satisfied all of the time? Everyone has an OPINION! That is what makes us unique!
People can have the very same experience and look at it two different ways.
I just don't let things bother me, however, the fact that I am human, I do get opinionated at times, please be nice and listen. Too scared to post anything that resembles a complaint, might get eaten up and spit out! This post is teetering, could go either way! LOL!

I think any concern, fairly stated is received in the same matter, but who knows, maybe I am naive.

I think that some people have the ability to tell someone to go to hell and make them look forward to the trip..

And others could say..."nice day" and you just want to take them to the ground.

It's all in the way it is delivered.

And there are those who NEVER say ANYTHING POSITIVE....and GLOAT when things go wrong.

This forum is full of smart discussions and debate. Everyone should be encouraged to state their own opinions, even if they are controversial or contrary. There are no clear answers or solutions to some of the issues presented here. We should take the time to consider the other perspective. You don't have to agree but seeing where others are coming from helps inform the discussions. Come here to share, learn and discuss, not disrupt.

You talkin bout me Gracie. I love that statement.

We are entitled to our opinions but I have to say that all people don't agree to disagree respectfully. I would like to think that I disagree with the statements but don't personally attack the poster.

Of course one could use to ignore feature the admin posted today on this very subject.

Bravo! I may not agree with someone's opinion, but I will defend their right to express it. Unfortunately some find it easier to attack someone else's opinion than it is to defend their own opinion.

Once in an English 8th grade class, my teacher (Miss B.) on a test asked us to express our opinion on a quote from a piece of literature. When I got my test back, my response was marked as incorrect. I spoke to her after class and pointed out that the question asked for my opinion on the quote and while she might not agree with it, it would be remiss of her to mark it as incorrect. She looked at me, smiled and gave me full credit for the answer. I don't remember another test question from her which included asking for an opinion.

And you're complaining about this why? (Sorry, I just couldn't resist.)

what you can count on are two things for certain. One, most posters want like treatment of their opinions and most do accept what another believs or thinks. Lets be bold and say 95% +++.

Secondly there always, ALWAYS will be the baiter or the moaner/groaner, attacker...pain in the butt contrarian on any subject no matter how stated.
Fortunately they are in the minority and easily ignored.

Opinions...everybody has one.
Sometimes, when an opinion is posted with words like "BEWARE" and "RIP-OFF" to describe a meal someone didn't like, I find it a little iffy.
Thankfully most opinion posts are good information.
