Default Golf cart crossing 466

Today my husband and I were exiting Mission Hills onto 466 at Feliu Run. A golf cart was ahead of us and my husband got out of the car to warn him not to go out onto 466. About that time he crossed all 4 lanes of 466 and went into the shopping area there. We held our breath but he made it across.

Well that is one way to solve the lack of golf cart access to that strip mall....not a smart one, but highly unlikely they'd ever get ticketed for it.

There should be a sign at that exit saying 'golf carts not permitted beyond this sign' like there are at other exits.

I see golf carts crossing 466 at Southern Trace somewhat regularly .... and yes, their is a "not permitted beyond this point" sign.

Cool

Personally, I believe we should be able to cross any road at a traffic signal, in a golf cart. This includes 466, 466a and 441/27. Not quite sure why golf carts have been singularly prohibited from crossing. I can use a bike, walker, skateboard, mobility scooter or any other method to cross, so why not a golf cart.

In this particular case there was no traffic light. Extremely dangerous to cross there,,even in an automobile.

These are usually street legal golf carts with the extra lights, license plate, and window wipers.

I not big fan od golf carts crossing major highway were traffic meets or exceeds 45 mph. Just cause there stop light don't mean it's safe. Car going 45 and broadsides golf cart would be catastrophic. Course there would be the one's trying to beat the light. Maybe and additional light for cart that would come on after the traffic stopped and went off before the red. Kinda like creating safety limit for the cart so they wouldn't get caught at the beginning or end of the red light. But, there would be few wouldn't follow and good change they could get squarish.

memason your observation is correct. However under no circumstances would I cross any of those highways at a traffic signal on a bike, skateboard, scooter or walking or in a golf cart because people are just too unattentive, unconscious, aggressive or no longer qualified to drive. Heck I hold my breath while I am riving on thoe roads in a car....not really but close to it

Personal Best Regards

Although it would be nice for residents to have golf access to some additional areas outside of TV, I don't think TV would support any effort for making that possible as it opens non-resident golf cart access to privately funded TV amenities. And it changes how TV can market its commercial space. Recent incidents/decisions/actions have made that clear.

I believe the majority of TV property owners would not be in favor of allowing non-residents golf cart access on par with residents access.

I know I would not.
