Default Is spring here?

Does anyone know enough about The Villages and this area to know if we are past the frost possibility. Is it time to prune and cut back? Can I pack up my jackets?

I usually hold off on any trimming til mid-March. At this point, I'm down to a heavy sweater or light jacket for my golf cart and back in shorts.

Yes, SPRING has sprung in The Villages, you can tell by the yellow pollen all over the place, your car, your porch, your outdoor furniture,

Some of the flowering trees are in bloom along roads outside TV. But this morning was jacket weather. I would go with what Sprinkler Buddy says.

I was just out in a light sweater and came back rather warm to say the least. The problem with Easter is it changes every year depending upon when the first Sunday occurs after the first full moon following the vernal equinox. This year it isn't for another almost two months. It is around mid or late April...I think we need to be doing something sooner than that, no?

As someone that has lived in Florida for 24 years, I was advised by a farmer (fern grower). He said always wait until after the first full moon in March before you cut back plants. I followed that ruling and have never had a problem.

My Myers Lemon tree sure thinks it is Springtime! It is loaded with clusters of pink buds and blooms. The Key Lime tree is following suit, too. Looks as though the Verigated Pink Lemon will producing this year, too.

The Key Lime tree had a bumper crop last year as I even had to give juice away to some folks on TOTV. Let's hope that happens this year, too!

Newspaper today listed mid March as the last chance of frost in TV.

I was one of the lucky recipients of your key lime juice. My mother and husband loved the key lime pie that I made. Thank you again Buggyone.
