Can someone please give me the pros and cons of living in the village of Santiago?
Thanks!

I rented there for a couple of years and I can't think of any cons...Very quiet area...If I had to look for a con it would be the Santiago Rec Center isn't very big and there activities there don't suit my needs....but I would buy in the area and be happy about it...

How about shopping in the area? Where do you go for a carton of milk?

It's less then a ten minute drive to any one of three Publix shopping areas. Mulberry, Spanish Plains and the 466 Publix (can't remember the name of the center). It's a ten minute drive to Spanish Springs and fifteen minutes to Market Square.

It's a great Village. We lived there from 2000 to 2004 then moved to BonnyBrook.

Have been here in Santiago permanently for 12 years. If there were any cons we would be somewhere else by now. More established neighborhoods, central locations to Publix, SS and LSL. Great accessability to hospital and MD's. Very golf cart friendly as well. I don't think there are too many cons with any of our villages!!!

It's a beautiful area with large oaks. A friend's daughter and husband ( in their 50's) just purchased a lovely home there. I like the fact that the homes in their neighborhood had lots of space between them for privacy.

I agree, good location to get anywhere you might want to go and of course I like the real trees also.

I love Santiago. It is a short cart drive to Spanish Springs or Sumter Landing. It is also a short drive to the restaurants on the main streets. It is very quiet.
I love the view from our front window, because there a line of pine trees along the horse farm. The neighbors are great and our bond is was very low. We have been there for a year now and think we bought in the perfect place. ![]()

The only con about Santiago was caused by the developer when he closed the Santiago bar and restaurant, which was a very popular afternoon drinking spot and early dining place.

We live in Santiago, and love it.. the area is handy to cart paths and the roads on Buena vista and Morse blvd. as well as close to many shopping areas. I think it is a great central area to live and Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs town squares are both close. Houses here are generally a great value as well.
