Way to go, Tinker! That was a generous and kind gesture that undoubtedly made the OP's day.

Perhaps, with your diligent sleuthing skills you could help find all of my orphan socks that go into our laundry system, with only one coming out the other side!

So, tell us, where was the ring? Upright in a tract?

My husband tells me that he finds M&M's under there, as well as under my car seat all the time. Guilty.
There was a fold in the leather at the back bottom of the recliner. It had a little gap at the top, just wide enough for the ring to slip into the pocket and not be seen. I actually found it when I was running my hand over the area and felt a bump. I was able to gently push the ring toward the gap and it popped out!

Good job villagetinker!
I wore a ring until the day it got caught on a drill press and almost lost a finger.
No more rings for me...

When we got married I was a Sears lawn mower mechanic and an electrical engineering student. I rejected wearing a wedding ring due to possible issues as you described; cutting my finger off while being a mechanic, or short circuiting something electronic in my perspective future profession. We had a 'single-ring' wedding ceremony and I have never owned a wedding ring. Just celebrated our 46th anniversary and our relationship has seemingly not suffered from lack of my ring...
