Default Need Mailbox number

We have misplaced the card with the mailbox number. Have the keys, but don’t know the box number. How do we find the box number? Who do we call? Need phone number.

Have you accessed the box previously?

If so, you'll know roughly where it is in the array and can try your key in those boxes until it opens yours.

when the mail sorters are there simply ask them as the boxes on the inside are by name and address.

If, I might suggest, common retail store trick. A code word, and you substitute letters for numbers. Anyone who finds my keys unless Sherlock Holms, will take too long to figure more than HUH.

I assume you are new to the villages. I would go to the villages offices with a picture ID surely they will tell you how to handle it. With all the scams they should not give it out over the phone.

So if you accidentally drop or lose it anywhere around the mail station anyone can steal your junk mail. I would think after a few days here you'd remember where your box is located and no longer need it engraved on your leather key tag! You don't keep your name and address attached to your house key do you?

I will risk the felony mail theft for the person who finds my mail key and steals my junk mail. It is The Villages, not Chicago, Philadelphia or San Francisco.

When youre not a full timer, you sometimes forget.
More of a risk of forgetting box number than dropping the keychain.

You could put a small photo sticker of yourself, pet, partner or girlfriend or boyfriend on the box. Less risk of junk mail theft or even keep driving directions to the box in Waze or Google Maps. (Of course a thief would have to be caught to be charged with Felony Junk Mail Theft).

Ask a neighbor their box number. They are sequential by address so yours will be adjacent.

Our postal station has a sign on it stating clearly: if you want to speak with the postal service worker about your mail or mailbox, you must talk through your opened mailbox. This ensures that someone didn't just steal someone's mailbox key and wants to steal the mail from it.

Get in touch with the closing office. They'll make sure you really are you, and give you the information you need.

Common, common sense…….this is your answer.
