Default Surrounding neighborhoods to RENT?

Hi Villagers! My parents have a gorgeous home in Amelia Village and we are desperate to be near them again. We 2 have beautiful little girls that miss their grandparents and we do too! We are not interested in BUYING a home but we would like to RENT a home, at least for the time being. We are interested in any surrounding neighborhoods to the villages that are family friendly. I know about The Village of Parkwood and do not think we are interested despite the beautiful homes because of the bad reviews about the builder. Are there any other neighboring communities or even apt/condo rentals we could be looking at? I need somewhere SAFE for my daughters and no more than 15-20 mins from The Villages. Even a website that could show us rentals nearby would be great! Thank you in advance!

Try going to the Ocala Craigs List craigslist: ocala classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

Go to the apts/housing section and type Villages in the search box. That will bring up all of the listings that say "near The Villages" and so forth.

I'd be wary of Craig's list for rentals. There are so many scams on it under rentals. They take your deposit and there is no house to rent. A house we had for sale "off the compound" ended up getting posted on Craig's list for rent with the posters trying to collect deposits. I ended up filing a police report and they told me this happens all the time. Just be aware, for whatever it's worth. Good Luck!

I feel that I need to say to you that employment is not as easy to find here than it might be from where you are now and wages are usually lower. Florida schools aren't known for their wonderful quality. The Villages Charter schools are better than the surrounding schools and are open to children of parents employed at The Villages. So along with your housing, it is important to consider those other things as well.

I bet your folks can check out housing for you too since they live here.

Hope it all works out well for you.

Default Oak Meadows or Spring Arbor

Oak Meadows and Spring Arbor are both family neighborhoods, and I'd live in either. I don't personally know of any rentals available right now in either of them, but I'd keep an eye out. There's a third family neighborhood (Bison Ridge) that I'm sure is nice too but I'm not personally familiar with it.
