My slider opens on the left and I would like to have it open on the right. Has anyone done this?

I haven't done that to a door, but did for windows at my home in CA....they were large windows , sliders. The stationary window has to be removed and put where the slider is, then the slider needs to be put where the stationary window was.....however you have a problem with the slider latch...wrong side. Turning the slider upside down has the latch upside down, and you have to yet install another latch plate in the side door track. Probably will just need a different door I would imagine and it could work. Really it's annoying when you would like something to open in the opposite direction, isn't it...
