Default Feelings About Leaving TV!

I was just wondering, if anyone would like to share their feelings, when they have found TV, and have to go home.

I know when I first saw TV several years ago, and I hated to leave.Time went by in a blink of an eye. I have been here a year, and it still feels like time, just flew by.

It's nice to know that I won't ever, have to leave again!

Don't mean for this thread to be a downer, so let's try to keep it positive.

We did our preview May 7-12 and I left my heart and soul in TV. I didn't want to leave and I want to be back there. We have our house on the market and I visit TOTV everyday. I look at the pictures we took and I dream of being there. We have started clearing out stuff we don't want to move to TV. I am thinking when we were there the love bugs got a hold of me. My kids don't want us to move to FL. because they enjoy our river house. I think they could be praying harder then us about the move. I pray our house sells so we can be back in TV real soon.

What a timely post for me!! I had to leave TV yesterday after a two week stay. I always hate to leave and can't wait to return! The hardest part for me is that I already own my home in TV but I can't enjoy it. The three of us (Mom, my aunt and I) will be back in November for the Village of Charlotte cruise! Can't wait.

By the way, I enjoyed your party last week. It was great to meet everyone!

I live here full time, and I enjoy when we go on a trip to visit family or do some sightseeing. But the moment I get back in the bubble, my entire body seems to give a sigh of relief. But that's been true wherever I have lived. It's great to leave and it's great to get back home.

Joe, the title of this thread gave me pause! I'm certainly glad you're just asking the question!

Well, I have to say on our first visit I loved it but I don't think my husband did. Second visit he came around, even more than me and we looked at houses. Third visit was a lifestyle visit. Next visit will be in July when we take possession of the home we just bought! We will be bringing enough stuff down so that when we want to come for a visit we can, and then we will retire next year or as my husband says, maybe sooner if he decides to throw in the towel. We are so excited and buying the home ahead of time makes it all seem real. We are ready to start living the dream by playing golf and then more golf!

We made our fourth trip to The Villages this past May. After much research and knowing exactly what we wanted and where we wanted to buy, "the" CYV went up for sale two days after we returned home. We went into contract, and on the seventh day rescinded our offer. Boy, did I cry! Yet, I knew at this time,it was the right thing to do. We decided that we should first sell our house, here, up north. This whole ordeal has lit a fire under us, and motivated us to get our house ready to put on the market. The tears have dried up. We'll be back with another home waiting for us.

Joe I love TV, home of many friends and more activities than I could have ever imagined. I also love my home in NY State, home of many friends and most of my family. When spring comes along each year I can't wait to hit the road. It's always difficult saying goodbye to my friends in TV but when I hit the NY Thruway and see the mountains approaching, I know I'm home. Likewise, when fall arrives I get the itch to head south and can't wait to hit I-95 southbound. As I arrive in the vicinity and head up Powell Rd toward Rt. 466A the feeling is similar to the way I feel when I see the mountains. I'm home. In feel very blessed in having two homes that I love. Perhaps someday I'll have to pick one place to settle and right now I have no idea which one state I'll call home. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Until then I'll enjoy the life I have, which to me is the best of all worlds. It's not for everyone but it sure works for me.

You and I will have to get together at that time for some Chinese food at that time!

Well, maybe an ice-cold beer would be better.

Default Think it depends where you are going and with whom.

I have left the Villages a few times since we moved here in 2005. These were always to do something in the Tarpon Springs/Oldsmar/Palm Harbor/St. Petersburg area of Florida. I love some of the areas of this Gulf Coast but they also have a lot of good and bad memories. The Villages has for the most part only very good memories for me.

I would love to see the San Francisco Bay area again as well as Chicagoland not so much the Twin Cities, Reno, El Paso, mainly because of memories associated with these cities. Of course, who you are with also colors your perspective a great deal. For instance, I had a great train ride up the Coast of California while talking with a English Professor from Oxford who was an expert on some writer or another. Cannot remember which one though. Maybe a Lake Poet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Poets
