Default Water Hypocrites?

Sprinklers on Villages golf courses and road medians running full force this morning up in our neck of the woods. What gives? We get warning letters and higher rates when we use too much irrigation water. Does TV pay for all the water they needlessly use for irrigation, especially after the magnitude of last night's storm? I think not!

Ummmm.....all the retention ponds are far above normal levels. Do you really want their water to come up into yards and homes?????

Had no idea that that was the reason for running all the sprinklers, hence the question. Interesting... thank you.

That's the value of this board, somebody always seems to have the answer to any situation.Sharon asked me why the sprinklers were running this morning, on the golf course next to our home.I had to research her question, since i wasn't sure why they were on in a rain storm . She has learned over the years when i'm full of bull or actually know what i'm talking about, which is very rare.

Default How does that work again?

If you are watering the wet saturated ground with the pond waters, How does it absorb? Wouldnt the water just run back into the pond? And create more runoff problems?

This Villages' ground soaks up a lot of water in many areas because of how sandy it is.

Talked to a lady with Sumter County emergency preparedness at the hurricane expo and she said TV had the best water management anywhere. She said if there was flooding rain TV was the place to be anywhere in this area.

I have faith in their systems. I am absolutely in awe of their systems. This is OUR town. Why are people so quick to be critical?

I have to believe that it really does look too good to be true and people are waiting to hear that they made a bad decision. Funny about human nature.

The water used to irrigate the golf courses and common landscaped areas is reclaimed water, first, pond water second. They water even though it is raining because the there is no storage capacity for quantity of wastewater produced on a daily basis. http://www.sodsolutions.com/pdf/villages_daily_sun.pdf

"hypocrits" was a spelling error - my bad.

As for being critical before knowing the answers...what can I say? It seemed really counter-intuitive to run sprinklers after such a big rain. I'm a skeptic. Yes, TV is a wonderful place to live. I just don't accept everything I'm told about it.
