Default This is marketing too

On another thread someone said the Villages don't advertize anymore. This is advertizing or marketing.

But is it a Villages-sponsored web site/article?

Bill -I'm leaving so won't be able to answer more questions.
You pay to put your own write up on this site. There is tons of sites like these. Its more complicated than this but...
Gotta go....gotta go. I was just answering someone on another thread saying there was no marketing in the Villages anymore.
Have a great day!

Interesting. Did anyone else check out the web site printed on the bottom of those pages "reforming" in the video?

I've tried two different computers and couldn't get the video to run.

I got an advertisement for growth hormone....and THAT was somehow related to sexual activity.

HONEST. I am not kidding.

But can't wait to see what Bill says.

Isn't Harold Schwartz from Michigan, not Ohio as the article says? If so, this could not be an ad published by The Villages.

I did a WhoIs lookup on the site thevillagesflorida.us and the domain name registrar was used by GoDaddy, with the registrant name of Joel Dreher in Bellview. So it doesn't look like it came from The Villages.....

Better keep my lip zipped on this one.....don't need to get banned from the board!

After scrutinizing it again, I'd have to think if that luggagejoint/villages blurb had been done by the TV powers-that-be, it would have pointed people to the real live TV web site, not that whatever.us site.

According to the book “Leisureville”, Harold was from Chicago but when he and his first wife divorced, she moved to Michigan with her son Harold “Gary”. She then married Clifford Morse and Gary eventually took on his stepfather’s name “Morse”.

Meanwhile Harold and a business partner were buying up pastures and farmland and selling them by mail-order in quarter acre parcels. But when the Florida legislature banned mail-order land sales in the late 1960’s, Harold’s business partner turned the several hundred acre watermelon patch in Central Florida into a trailer park. In 1983 and only 400 homes sold, Harold visited his sister in the huge Sun City Arizona retirement community and was so impressed that he bought out his partner’s interest in the trailer park and transformed the Orange Blossom Gardens trailer park into a mobile home community selling lifestyles instead of just homes.

That’s why I’m convinced that the major ingredient in the “Kool-Aid” drink that convinces so many to retire to TV is in fact aged watermelon juice from those watermelon fields in OBG.
