Default Twilight Rocket Monday 25th

SpaceX, is scheduled to launch a satellite from the Cape this evening at 5:37 PM. If the skies are clear it should be easily seen to the ESE and spectacular given the time of day. You may watch online at

SpaceX | Launch Central

which begins at 5 PM and is a good source for knowing if the launch is delayed or scrubbed. Keep in mind that the internet may lag many seconds behind reality so if you are hoping to see the fire, be outside before the countdown reaches zero. Do also remember that given the curvature of the earth, the rocket needs to be up some time before it will break the horizon here (physics majors, get out your calculators and give me a number of seconds)

Just re-set launch time to 5:54, sadly looking cloudy to the east right now.

Now Thanksgiving, launch scheduled for 5:39 PM. Clear skies so this should be very visible if all goes as scheduled.

Reached zero. Ignition then abort. Next available lift off is tomorrow unless somehow they can recycle this evening.
Have reset the countdown to 13 minutes and holding pending analysis. Window is until about 6:45 tonight
