will trash here take it or does it have to go to dump? anyone know?

leave it out the evening before a normal trash collection day and the technology pixies will spirit it away to recycle the parts

they take computers, TVs etc.

If you had sensitive info on your hard drive, you might want to remove it and physically damage the hard drive so the info can't be retrieved.

Remove the hard drive (look it up on the internet) and keep it. I also removed wires, pretty much left a shell on the curb and it was gone before I got up that morning...

Contact The Villages Computer Club at their web site. There have a group of members that will take old computers and rehab them and donate them to a local charity or group to give to those in need. If the computer is beyond repair there may be some parts and circuit boards that they can use in other systems to get them working.
