Default New Countertops

Thinking about replacing my formica countertops in a Patio Villa. Anybody have recommendations, and could give an idea as to the cost to do this in a patio villa? Probably would prefer granite.

We recently used Express Tops in Leesburg. They have 3 different grades of granite tops. I don't know how many square feet of counter tops is in a villa, but I would guess you could have this done for between $2500 and $3000. PM me for contact info and pictures if you like.

Since you haven't had any replies in 4 hours, let me recommend a better idea anyway. Do a search on this website and you'll get plenty of reading material, I did a search for you and there are at 3 or 4 pages of threads. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...rchid=11599309

A quick response to your question. I looked into it for our CYV and went to 3 different local contractors. You'll find ARS Granite in Fruitland Park and Duncan Stone over by the Leesburg Airport are the two most recommended. Off the top of my head, most dealers grade granite in 3 levels. At ARS in Fruitland Park there level 1 was $65 a sf installed, level 2 was $55 and level 3 was $45. Now if you want anything other than a standard edge, that is extra, that can get expensive. Also, you need an new undermount sink. ARS has a large 31" single bowl stainless steel for $350, which is exactly what I wanted. I don't like the divider in the middle. Also, you'll want to get a nice spray faucet. I found a $700 one on eBay for $125 brand new in the box. If you go to Home Deport or Lowes you'll find a lot in the $200 to $300 range.

Now, your square footage. I have a Durham CYV with a 10' breakfast bar that is two tier. Total square foot for our kitchen was 68. So take 68 and multiply by $45, $55 or $65, add in for the sink, faucet and any special edge. That should give you a ball park figure, start with measuring your kitchen.

I just had Duncon Stone in Tavaris replace my counter tops, I used quarts counter tops not granite, they do both. Quarts less maintenance.
Excellent work and very nice to deal with. Phone # 352-253-0499 they came highly recommended on this site and I very happy I went with them. Any questions PM me.

We live a patio villa and had granite installed last year. We chose mid grade at $59 sq ft. The price was $4,500 and that included both bathrooms and a new kitchen sink. Duncan Stone did the job and we are very happy with the counters. There are no seams in our granite.

When you get done, if you want a backsplash, Dan at Style in Tile, wildwood does excellent work. He can be reached at 610-496-7320, he did our house (backsplash and knee wall), and several of the neighbors.
