Default Florida gets in line with rest of the country

Florida clarified their sales tax law to get inline with the rest of the states requiring online merchants doing more than $100,000 per year in business to pay FL sales tax. EBAY is collecting the tax that is required. Since the EBAY fee is part of the price of the item, sales tax applies to the EBAY fee. I do not view this as a new tax. This is colleting tax that is in reality rightly owed to the state of FL.

Yes, New Jersey has had it for awhile, if the item you bought is also from no, then you paid the tax

And yet another (theoretically disallowed) purely political post

It is a florida law The link also shows which Senators voted yes or no. All our local representatives voted yes
Senate Bill 50 (2021) - The Florida Senate
The impetus was a US Supreme Court decision a few years ago that made state taxation of internet sales without the seller having a state's physical location legal

No kidding. My post was in response to someone who felt that sales tax for items purchased on E-Bay should apply only to new items, not used items, and stated that was "fair". I was replying with an example of routinely taxed used items from a brick and mortar store to show that taxing used items on E-Bay would be just as "fair". Sorry if my meaning was too obscure.
