Default New Flyovers of the Golf Courses - Mangrove/Sweetgum/Palmetto

I've decided to try a new project with the drone, flyovers of the golf courses here in The Villages. I should have no shortage of material. The challenge will be not disturbing the golfers with the drone so there is going to be a little bit of jumping around to catch the course closures.

This is the first of the flyover videos. It is of Mangrove, Sweetgum, and Palmetto. Sweetgum and Palmetto have been closed for a while to help with the excess water situation so they made a good first choice. This particular video took seven tries to get the finished product and final editing was limited to a speed adjustment, removing the takeoff and landing footage, music, and commentary.

The commentary is all referenced to the black tees as they set the basis for the course ratings and are most interesting to play. Altitude is about 100 ft at the tees and 50 ft at the greens.

Mangrove-Sweetgum-Palmetto

Enjoy

For those interested in drones and aerial photography check back later today at the "Clubs of the Villages" section for an announcement.

I noticed all the sprinklers working, and thought it was due to the effort to drop water levels. But in the Palmetto section, the water levels seemed kind of low. What gives?

The view as seen by a golf ball.

You should do one as a hole-in-one.....from tee to cup.

The system moves water around and uses it to water the courses so the lakes go up and down a lot. I don't believe they can fill it and use it at the same time. Just wait, it will be back up tomorrow.

Take a look at the maps (Water systems) and you can see they can move water a long way. Quite the incredible system.

I haven't made many flights over the preserve areas this year so I can't say for sure but if my own yard is any indication in the last few weeks then likely, unless they are wetlands, they are turning brown .
