New golf cart on the market?
Not yet but.....
Polaris just announced in an effort with Zero motorcycles a new UTV called the ELECTRIC RANGER XP KINETIC. They are claiming 80 miles on lithium batteries. Remember this is with a vehicle that has 4WD and is about 20% bigger in size and weight than a standard 2-place golf cart. It is meant for serious off roading. This thing can haul 1500 lbs. and tow a 2500 lb. trailer!!!! Dealers are claiming Polaris is testing a golf cart prototype vehicle, and it has broken elusive the 100 mile barrier. Is there an electric golf cart with a 120+ mile range on the horizon??? |

Doesn't sound like it doesn't qualify to play golf in, so I wouldn't call it a "golf cart."
4WD? Serious off road? 20% bigger in size and weight than a standard 2-place golf cart? No Thanks |

You obviously did not read the whole post....Polaris appears to be testing a golf cart prototype that appears to use this learned electric power as a source. If a battery setup can power a UTV that can haul a horse trailer at 60mph and has a range of 80 miles imagine what it can do with two golfers hauling golf clubs going 19mph???

Saw what looked to be an extra large Gem cart on the path by Sawgrass. It was taking up a lot of the imaginary center line.

Sounds good. I'd like an electric cart that goes 80 miles on a charge.
But as Bily mentioned, size is an issue, especially width. Friend in Caroline bought one too wide to use the Morse Avenue bridge. He lived 1/4 mile from that bridge. |

No different than the True LSV’s (not talking about golf cart with plates) that are allowed on golf courses.

Is there a width requirement for golf carts on the MPP? These carts seem to be getting wider and crossing LSL bridge is getting treacherous.

I had a friend that bought a cart with lifts and found the it wouldn’t fit under the tunnels.

That brings up a question. What is the minimum tunnel height? My friend lives up north and has a Yamaha PTV Adventurer 2+2. He is planning on moving here, probably bringing it with him. It is stock from the factory with a 2-inch lift. I am not sure what his roof clearance is, but that would be valuable to know - ya know, before the practical application portion of this test.

Unfortunately, 80 miles won't get to Disney and back, at the time of the "build out"

Awesome Bilyclub (Shillelagh), thank you. In my world, your username would have been PR-24. You saved me the adventure of trying to hunt that down for him.

We called them nightsticks and they were wooden. Took them forever to allow ASP's and only after they banned Mag/Kel lights.
