In speaking to an MLS real estate agent yesterday at an open house, he told me that TV is building about 200 new homes per month for a total of about 10,000 more new homes then the build out is complete (4 to 5 yrs. from now). Do those figures sound right (200 per month, 10,000 more new homes)?

I've heard people speculate, they will "find" more land to build. When I look at Google Earth, there is plenty of land to "find". Can someone explain to me why that wouldn't be a consideration?

I'd be inclined to think that perhaps there truly is a limit to just how big TV can be?
At some 110,000 residents, in some 55,000 homes, spread over close to 30,000 acres, some 12-15 miles north-to-south, 5-10 miles east-to-west, with even the longest-range electric golf cart limited to some 80 miles . . . I mean, really. When it takes you almost a half-hour to go by automobilefrom the brandy-spanky new Village of Sanibel to the northern limits at CR42 in Marion County, aren't we really too big?????????? ![]() SWR ![]()

I don't really think the developers would stop expansion plans based on the range of a golf car.

Bill (of Bill n Brillo) posted the latest on the IRS issues in a link to the VCDD website today. That has the latest (as of last month) on build out.

In one of The Villages history videos they talk about how Gary Morse was the one who "found" the land that they bought to expand upon. Unless someone else knows otherwise I do not believe they have bought any land in a few years, so I would tend to think that process may have stopped. In his address to the VHA last year Mark Morse stated that when build out is completed they will then turn their attention to managing the properties that they own. |
