New Home Carpet problem
We have a new home & I am having an issue vacuuming my carpet. It is like trying to push a Mack truck. I have tried 2 different vacuums & it is still ridiculously hard to push. Does anyone else experience this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you adjusted the height on the vacuums on the bottom. Sometimes they have a pile adjustment.

Yes they are adjusted. I first thought it was the humidity but I am finding out now that is not the case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Sounds like you need an ORECK. Standard new home carpets are not that plush...you should be able to get through it with little problem. Adjust the height of your vacuum as previously suggested.

Call The Villages warranty department and explain what's happening. Perhaps there is a problem with the padding.
They should send someone out to check. |

It sounds more like a vacuum issue than a carpet one. When that's happened with our vacuum...it was a broken belt.

Both were brand new vacuums. They work fine in my tile floors. Thought is was the Oreck so we bought a Shark. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

get rid of the carpet & install wood or laminate--it will be a lot cheaper & healthier in the long run

I agree.............it's probably a vacuum issue, not a carpet.
I have a Red Devil and that's how I get my cardio. Random thought........check with your neighbors. Sounds like you are in a new village (nice you said new house). See if they are having the same issue, if not, borrow their vacuum. |

Actually we have owned the house for 2 years but just moved in full time. When we were here 3x a year we vacuumed before we left but thought it might be the humidity. Most of my neighbors are away but that was also a thought. We plan on replacing in the near future but not just yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Thank you but my husband is extremely mechanically inclined so he has checked them out. That's why we can't understand that it would be both vacuums & both brand new. It just doesn't make sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
