Default Oh how I wish I had a camera with me

I didn't, so let me try to paint the picture.

It was Sunday afternoon and the location was the cart trail along Buena Vista directly across from the Lopez Country Club entrance.

It was a golf cart traveling at normal cart speed ( 16-20 MPH)

Behind the wheel was a girl about 9. In the center was a boy about 6-7.

Grandpa was sitting on the passenger side staring off into space with his mouth hanging open.

The 9 year old girl was not driving, although she was sitting at the wheel.

The 6-7 year old boy in the middle was driving.

The 9 year old girl behind the wheel, was hanging down over the arm rest on the drivers side, trying to drag her finger tips on the road surface.

What can I say. It causes a knot in my stomach.

If you have a cell phone, you probably have a camera. Most do now a days.

Saw the same sort of thing in November, driving on the ROAD, in the village of Woodbury, just by the corner, near the post boxes. We were horrified. The child was no more than 8 years old. Grandpa totally oblivious to what ishe was doing!

I cant help but wonder what can be done (if anything) when a situation like this is witnessed??? It would be good to know for future incidents.

I agree 100% I would love to know what to do. The lives of those kids could be at stake.

If you have your cell phone with you, why don't you call the sheriff's department and report the incident while it's happening?

Presumably, the sheriff would respond, have the children bring them home to the parent/grandparent, and then the sheriff would (hopefully) give the responsible "adult" a citation. This not only may save a child, but will serve to educate the guilty "adult".

The problem is, when folks go on vacation, they leave their "sensible heads" at home!! Then let the kiddies do what ever they want to do!

I'm afraid that by the time I called the Sheriff and they responded with a car, the guilty party would be home, in the living room having a beer with the kids.
