Default New neighborhood Walmart at Sarasota Plaza

As the construction nears end and the blacktop is being put down you can get an idea of the parking. I can't imagine there will be enough parking spaces there. The gas station takes up 1/3 of the front, the employees need to park. Looks like it will be hard to find a spot in the small parking lot.

Default It's not a Full Service Walmart !!

This is called a "Walmart - Neighborhood Market" which is a fancy title for a grocery store. These parking lots are not that large and usually have plenty of spots for shoppers.
But I really hope the designers took into consideration, the IS the Villages and there are a L O T of people here!!!

I think it will be a plus. I have learned since moving to The Villages that a lot of people haven't grown up with Walmart and some even have a prejudice against Walmart.

They have huge buying power and often you can find items much less expensive than anywhere. This draws people who have always watched their money and those who must watch their not much money.

Yep. I like Walmart.

More traffic for an already congested area. What were they thinking? How silly of me more money for the developer

Looks like the Shell station will be lucky if he sells 5 gals/month--he's been ripping off people too long--because he was the only show in town @ that end

Was in a Walmart Neighborhood Market in the Dallas area. Very well laid out for a quick shopping trip. Parking should be OK.

I just googled neighborhood Walmarts (what do they look like?) The photos shown---well it's basically the grocery store along with the pharmacy area, not unlike grocery chains. So will give the Publix (for those who want it) a fun for their $$$. I'd heard the Colony Publix will be remodeling starting in October (just in time for the seasonal folks return).

It is far easier to complain then to actually DO something.

Anything you do will have both positive and negative results.

RE: WALMART
They are actually the largest employer in the US. Some here will bitch that Walmart does not pay their people enough. These same people will bitch about long lines to pay at Walmart and lack of PEOPLE willing to help you

As to grocery options. We are three miles from Winn Dixie three miles from Publix and about the same from the,"farmer's market." We shop all three by golf cart.

They are building commercial just as fast as commercial people sign up. We were in the new Publix way down Morse the other day, quite large.

I love your comments!! I had the thought of...."how does one know when folks are 'old'?? They hear complaining!" Too much time and too little going on I guess. It takes effort to remain positive! Thanks for offering your opinion and it's so true!!!
