I complimented the manager on their new store and asked how come people had multiple bags, she said they learned to late that people were walking back out and then walking back in to get another bag. Did I need a bag-no, it was just sad to me that some people were a little bit greedy. The new store is beautiful!!!
It was one bag PER customer......

Someone told me that Citizens First Bank used to give out apples instead of popcorn but had to quit when customers would come in with bags to fill with the apples! Unbelievable!

I thought the ad said "free to the first 500 shoppers". If I went along with my wife, wouldn't I also be a shopper? Hence 2 in cart.

Sorry to say but many of the people here are the most selfish people I have ever seen. Look at how they drive, it's all about me me me.

I cannot get too excited about another Publix. Same high prices as the other Publix stores in the area. Prices for most items here are far higher than they are in Boston Ma. A gallon of milk over $4 when you can get it for $3 at Sav A Lot. But I guess we Villagers do not care about that as we have a lot of money to stimulate the economy.

Just another perspective.

I went to MVP this morning and decided to stop at the new Publix on the way home about noon, took about 2 minutes to get there. I go right by Winn Dixie but I just don't care for that store. The new Publix shopping center parking lot was completely full, had to drive around for 5 minutes before I found a spot. However, even though this store is 9,000 sf smaller than the Colony Publix, it didn't seem too bad. It had a rather quaint feel that was nice.

The only problem getting around was all the suits standing in the aisles talking to each other, they must of had every corporate employee there. Some band's equipment was set up on the front sidewalk but weren't playing and hot dogs and cokes were for sale for a $1 next to the entrance. It seemed a lot of the clutter was this added grand opening hoopla. The one good thing, checkout had no waiting, I went straight to the cashier. I think I like this new store, I only wish Jersey Mike's was moving in, instead of Subway.

I laughed out loud when I read this. Was talking with some ladies on my street the other night about the opening and we all agreed we would go no where near where something was given away free. I did, however, shop at Colony Publix today, mid-day, no problem getting a close parking spot.

I do have one gripe (just one!). As I was leaving to go north on Powell Road, I couldn't do it. Only a right turn (south) is allowed. Then I had to wait at the stop light to make a u-turn. There is no frontage road, and no other road in or out of the parking lot except Powell and Hwy. 44.

Anyway that's just one woman's opinion.
If you go behind Publix you can take Brownwood Blvd east and go 3/4 around the circle on Powell and head north

I just wish they had a Shop and Bag or Wegmans in Florida - Publix is not that great and Winn Dixie is really poorly run so Publix wins by default.

Have you noticed that Publix is replacing many items with their own brand? Quality is declining and price is not changing.
