Default New renter moved in across the street Citrus Grove "new" Patio VIlla

Short term couple moved in till April. They place lawn chairs and water bottles in the actual street (permenantly). They have a patio and a large side yard already. Found out the renter needs a lawn chair on the street to smoke cigarettes.

We have contacted the owners listed on the Villages rentals that we finally found. Thanks.

Owner must have contacted "street sitting tenants" because the chairs are gone.

I dont believe there are any restrictions on actually being able to use your yard for sitting or drinking.

Maybe you should call Sumter County and after getting answer let us know. I doubt Sumter County monitors TOTV.

When you say "on the street permanently" , do you mean actually placing chairs in the street and on the asphalt? Or do you mean placing chairs in the yard next to the street. Makes a lot of difference.

Call community standards and ask.

Drive your car up if they are blocking the street and honk…loudly and constantly. If they are not blocking the street then I’d let it go.

I have to tell you a different story. We have renters next door. They were out on the lanai with guests perhaps 4 guys playing cards telling jokes, laughing quietly etc. An anole climbed up my lanai screen - something I disapprove of because when we open the screen they sometimes come in, can’t find their way out and then they die. In order to prevent this, I went up to the screen and said “shoo”, as anoles can hear. The anole did leave but I noticed, the laughter next door stopped. Then the guys left. I realized they must have thought I had said, “Shhh”. Some renters are so considerate!

Seems like they are law abiding people honoring their rental contract. Problem will be solved when the snow plow driver runs over the chairs.

Perhaps rental contract states no smoking on property?

You cannot reason with some people. You cannot reason with lizards either. Confession when we first moved in we had an areol on our lanai. I did not want it to be killed so I put out water for it. The reality, they come and go at their leisure under the door jamb.

There is no shortage of inconsiderate people everywhere-including the villages.

I didnt believe on the street meant actually on the street and not in the yard at the street. Why would anyone sit in a chair on the street? Very odd.

Yes, it's very odd, but the OP (see Post No. 7) verifies that the chairs are in the street. Maybe they are at the end of the street.
