Negatives are few. It can be a bear trying to contact a live person at Customer Service for the rare times you need it, and service calls are expensive: $100 (the only time we used it) a couple of years back just for the service guy to come to our house. We did find out that the personnel at their store on 441 are not shy about giving advice, which can be a real money-saver: if you have problems with your TV remotes they'll just give you a new one, no questions asked. Also about a year ago our service was spotty for a couple of days. I stopped at their store and the guy told me that 90% of the time it is the fault of the modem: that to save the price of a service call just bring them the old modem and they'll give you a new one. All in all, very satisfied. Last edited by ThirdOfFive; 12-03-2023 at 07:51 AM. |

I echo the comments re the Xfinity store in Rolling Acres. Very friendly and helpful. Just be sure to make an appointment as the walk-in wait times can be excessive.

Unfortunately, one of the very few things we don’t like about living north of 466 is the lack of competition when it comes to high speed internet providers. When the underground infrastructure was built in that area the future importance of internet wasn’t yet fully recognized and addressed. For real high speed internet in that area it’s basically Comcast (Xfinity) or bust, unless you can live with DSL. We have 400 mbps Xfinity service for the introduction rate of about $50 per month, including the modem/router, but have to play the renegotiation game every time the contract term ends. For a household of only two, who are not heavy data users, we find that speed to be totally adequate. We can stream Netflix, Prime, and YouTube TV without buffering and all of our on line needs work fast and flawlessly. I just wish Comcast would reward customer loyalty and not play the bait and switch game that forces us through the renegotiation exercise every time our contract term expires. Hope that helps.
