Default New Vehicle Ads

Why do ads on modern vehicles (cars/ trucks) show driving them offroad,
through creeks, down dusty tails, over boulders, driving through woods, driven like they sold them, and all the occupants laughing.

Do those ads have a effect on you when buying a new vehicle at the cost of $60,000-$90,000 + determine which one to buy, even though 85% of owners never take them off road ??

Do car manufactures really think this sells their product?

Yes, they do. But, no one will admit that they are influenced by television ads.

Yes, unless it’s ford or Chevy.

Lets spend almost 100,000 for a truck and see how fast we can destroy them. Sounds like fun to me.

Winner gets to buy a new one.

Muddling in the area must be pretty popular. Each time a 4x4 goes by with that distinctive mud bath look I wonder if there are natural areas or man made muddling. We both worked with Doctors, PAs and NPs who were weekend Mudders, and all terrain climbing. In 15 years, none of them ever had damage to their vehicles, except for one tire blown. All traveled to different states to for their hobby, and competitions.

Then again they also may not have been the sharpest knife in the drawer. Beginning of every winter all who owned a soft top or removable hard top, doors removed, would throw in $500.

Last one to drive to and from work without a top and doors was the winner. Lowest amount won $5,000.
