I love country music, but I think Classic Hits would be best -- we need to start hearing music from the 70's & 80's.

Thanks. I'm listening right now on my iPad.

I know that I'm a minority, but my three favorite genres are Blues, Classical, and Jazz.

I just checked the FCC FM query page and Radio Station Locator and couldn't find an FM application or construction permit for a FM radio station in The Villages. If the application is for a city near The Villages it may not show up.

It appears there is a majority for classic rock from the 50's through the 70's as core. There are also many people with an interest in country from the same general time period. Both of these could be core but maybe each genre would have its own dedicated time slots. I agree with both of these choices. However, I would love to see more variety too. Could you use non-peak hours for rotating genres? I love listening at odd hours and different days to be devoted to different types of music - smooth jazz, blues, pop / big bands, space / new age, folk. Different groupings could be promoted and you could see what the popularity was. One other area fascinates me as well. There is dancing everywhere virtually all the time in TV. Could there be a slot for line dancing music? How about one for ballroom? Latin? Cajun?

I keep trying to bring that up, but seems like everyone just wants to expound on their favorite kind of music.

Did a quick check and the OP hasn't posted on this tread since early May. And PS, it was his 2nd ever post....makes me wonder.

JAZZ.....no decent Jazz stations around. The one from Ocala is not good (in my opinion).

I don't think people new to the thread are making it this far. They are just replying to the OP. There's plenty of stations all around here playing all the genres being listed. I personally have XM since I just can't stand commercials anymore. It's worth every penny, especially when driving back up North, never need to touch the dial.

Perhaps this story is not even true.
