We were very happy to start this morning on the first day of the new Villages Lawn Bowls Club. Several people came along and we played a short game and showed some new people the basics of lawn bowls. Other lawn bowlers from the Tuesday and Thursday groups turned up, were invited to bowl but declined. We will be back again this evening and then every Wednesday at 9 am. Anyone who would like to learn to bowl is invited to come and try. We thank the Recreation Department for their assistance in setting up this new group and we appreciate their help. We look forward to the sport of lawn bowls being featured once again in the Villages Senior Games. Contact us if you would like any further information. Lawn Bowls is played in many locations in Florida, and also across the whole of the US and Canada at all levels. Come and join us!

Which Rec center? I will be down for three weeks in July, may I join in for the weeks that we are there? I have never lawn bowled but would like to try it.

Rio Grande Neighborhood Center and we would love to have you come and try this great sport. We will teach you, provide bowls and info sheets, just wear flat shoes and casual clothes - you don't have to wear white clothes. Come on Wednesdays to this club at 9am and take it from there!

Why not come and try this sport, we would love to see you. Not really like Bocce, we play on much wider "rinks" which are not surrounded by the boards, and we don't wear white clothes any more. Casual dress, hat, flat shoes.

I would also add to the previous post about the Villages Lawn Bowls Club, Wednesdays, and to clear up any misconceptions that seem to abound in certain quarters, that in The Villages Lawn Bowls Club we play the game as defined by World Bowls and of course, our parent Association, Bowls USA, as is the norm in this country. We DO NOT play by English Federation Lawn Bowls Rules. Bowls England, Bowls Scotland and Bowls Canada also play by World Bowls standards so most lawn bowlers who hail from clubs in the UK/Canada will certainly be aware of the differences. Come and join us every Wednesday morning at 9am, Wednesday evenings are about to commence.

We will be meeting for bowls on Wednesday around 9 am and welcome anyone who would like to come and learn to bowl, or are already established lawn bowlers.
