Neither. It happens often. You need to change your code. Read your manual for instructions.

I had the same issue. The only way I could fix it was to change from the middle button on the opener to the + button on the opener. I tried changing to code but it didn’t help.

It is a pain but also happened to us. My opener also worked on my neighbor's garage door.

Both of you have the same code, either you change yours, or have them change theirs.

There probably are these little dip switches inside the remote and the actual opener. The switches must match each other for each home but for the time being, I would unplug the opener and park in the driveway.

If this is a new house tell them to get their kiesters in gear and send someone out to get you fixed up pronto prente'.

The 1st thing we do when buying a new house is reset all remote controlled items to new codes: garage, fans, fireplaces, etc..
The builder doesn’t usually do this and when they buy the same exact thing for every house, you got the same code. Also, a subcontractor could program a garage door remote to their own remote so later on after you move in, they could get into your garage. Years ago in a new house, my ceiling fan remote operated my backyard neighbors fan and it was funny for a while to turn their light on to surprise them

Download the manual from the manufacturer and print it out. It covers the mechanical and controls maintenance and troubleshooting.

https://linear-solutions.com/wp-cont.../111069FX1.pdf

or just google Linear mvp pdf. Pages 11 and 12.

You should learn to do it yourself. There are also many YouTube videos to help.

First you change the code on your remote. Then you make the wall unit learn the code. It should only take a couple of minutes once you have mastered it.

It's your neighbor's problem Your opener is opening your door, which it is supposed to do. The neighbor's unit SHOULD NOT be accepting the signal from your opener's remote. It is up to them to react and make the proper adjustment.

We are renters and the same thing is happening to us. I called HPM and they sent someone down to reset our opener. Last night we got home from Brownwood, and our garage door was open. I guess we’ll call again
