Not sure what you mean by infrastructure. You don't build houses before roads, power, utilities, etc. Might you mean amenities? Or commercial development and such?

Looks like the tour changed based on the ad in today's paper. It appears that you can now get off the trolley and visit the "Designer Model Center" which the previous add did not mention. I believe they caught a lot of flack from people who wanted to visit the model homes.

My humble observational opinion.

I think it's safe to say though, that the weather at Fenney is still much nicer than it is in the Northern states. I would think that might sway a few down there !

It's correct that the golf courses and rec centers are not complete but they are well under way and will probably be finished by the time the first residents move in. The first residents are expected to move in March 31st.

True....I would feel isolated having access to only 1 village to explore in my golf cart. It would get old pretty quickly driving the same roads all the time.

Glad to read the news about the "grand opening" of the Village of Fenney, and that the first residents will be moving in at the end of March - how exciting for them. It will be interesting to see how this new part of The Villages develops over the coming months and years.

Hopefully in the next few months the first residents of the Village of Fenney will post on TOTV about life in The Village of Fenney. I would love to know what made them want to purchase a home in Fenney.

Hopefully what happens in Fenny, stays is Fenny. We don't need additional traffic on our roads nor Fennyites using our rec facilities, we sure won't be using theirs.

I don't know, neighbor. Why just Fenny? I'd hate to see those people from Country Club Hills or Mulberry coming down here to Brownwood, clogging the roads with traffic, using Eisenhower, etc. Maybe it has something to do with them paying the same amenity fee that we do.

In reality, however, how often do you go to Spanish Springs? Play Lopez or Orange Blossom? Go to the Mulberry Rec Center? I have never even seen the "hysterical" side. I think that WHEN ( I doubt there is much IF) everything from here to Fenny is TV, the same will be true. Given just the amount of land between here and Fenny with plans for 14,000 new homes, I would imagine 3 or 4 championship courses, 12-14 execs, 30 neighborhood pools, 7 or 8 village rec centers, 1 or 2 regional rec centers and a town square. Residents of Fenny will have no need to come as far north as Brownwood, just as we have no need to go play Orange Blossom or use Mulberry Rec Center.

My only confusion was the statement that they plan to build the 14,000 homes "over the next decade". It only to 5 years to build everything south of 466A, generally at a rate of 400 new homes/month. The infrastructure went in quickly as well. It took less than 2 years from the time there were just piles of dirt from 466A and Microracetrack as far as the eye could see and the thousands of homes in Pine Ridge and Osceola Hills to be sold and occupied. I doubt there will be problems crossing 44 or the Turnpike in some way---after all, for every $70 they add to the price of a home there, they generate $1 million. Plenty of money to solve problems.

First I've read on Fenney....Irish? We're going to buy soon, and being Minnesota 'lake country' folks we've gravitated to the 'quiet' area up by 42. But a cheap villa with a double garage and a view under 200k ok...

I am also interested in knowing how they get thru the dark night being the only people living in Fenny...with the surrounding neighborhoods, I hope the developer is providing some sort of security... I personally would Demand security.

We drove down to see and were allowed to enter and then to leave and were kindly told that at this time the only way to see it is on the trolley. BUT...

on our way down 301 from 466 where we live...and cutting over on the road from 301, I was astonished at the level of dirt moved and land that has been acquired by The Villages. There were Prairie Schooners in places along the way to show that this too was property of The Villages and there was a lot of property. I don't think anyone who hadn't witnessed the growth in the last nine years could believe it. The "family" has such a way of making each new village look as if it had been there for some time with their landscaping skills and flowers and of course the rec centers and mail drops and swimming pools and golf courses and ponds and green space.

I love the way the Morse Family create beautiful spaces. I wish them continued success and hope each new villager loves this place as much as we three do.

That's probably what the original residents in the historic section contemplated but they weren't on "the same roads all the time" for very long. With all the land in the Fenney area, I visualize a 'Villages II' with many of the offerings elsewhere in TV.

When we moved into pennacamp we were the only residents for 4 months. The dirt was more of a problem than security. There will be same guys in white trucks driving around as here. After all there is lots of building materials to be watched over
