Default Where are the alligators? (For grandkids)

The grandkids will be coming down in a few days and they are going to want to see alligators. Where have they been sighted recently?

Just about in every retention pond. The one by Palmer along the Buena Vista Multi-modal trail usually has one on the bank. Good luck and be safe

Gatorland in Orlando is definitely the best place to see alligators.

Too many Grammas and Grampas in The Villages think it is so neat to see alligators with the kids and toss food to the alligator. This basically signs the death warrant for the alligator.

Take the pontoon ride on the St. John's river. You will see a lot of them in their natural habitat. Take State road 40 to the blackwater inn in Astor that is where the boat ride begins.

Most kids love a boat ride and there are several air boats around where you can see a lot of alligators and other wildlife for just a few dollars. Besides, it will get them out of the "bubble" for a few hours.

One day I saw four gators sunning themselves on the banks of the pond (on Buena Vista south of Palmer Golf Course).
Lots of people stop there, a well-known spot for gators. Be very careful though!

Take them on a boat ride up Hane's Creek. I believe it is off Lake Eustis, just past the Lake Square Mall.

Read the title and chuckled. Thought you wanted to feed the grand kids to a gator. Just kidding. Hope they enjoy their visit.

Locally, this morning, big one on pond at 7th hole of Sweet Gum. Last Friday, pond on 2nd hole at Heron.
Very educational and fun boat ride with Captain Mike's River Cruise behind Stumpknockers in Dunnellon. Lots of alligators, all sizes.

We just did Tom and Jerrys air boat at Lake Panasoffkee yesterday. It was a fun ride plus we saw at least a dozen gators..got to hold a small one too. Oh, and if you go be certain to take the coupon that is always in the Daily Sun
