Default No changes to the gate access control system at this time

I attended the joint PWAC and AAC meeting today to both listen and speak to this group of attentive supervisors. After listening to district staff, their board members and the public, they decided to ask staff to not make any changes to the current system of gate control. They felt that the cost to make changes was way high and the goals to make those changes not clearly defined.

So, if you have a cloned card it will continue to work. If you would like to have the entrance gates go up without using the old (open the window) card, please do as I do use a cloned card in your mirror to open the gate with ease.

LOL. At least they could change the color of the button to justify their existence. How many years have they been discussing these gates?

Good point and get drenched if it’s pouring down rain for a false gated community, LOL

Just hold your gate pass up to the window, seems to always work just fine.

And you don't have to roll down the window...the card works through glass.

The cards work through the glass. No need to roll down the window.

It’s not a falsely-gated community. Those gates force people to stop. That is important for the safety of golf carts. On occasions when a gate has been broken and a big STOP sign has been erected where the gate was, a lot of car drivers do a so-called “rolling stop” that might mean five or ten miles an hour. That makes a collision more possible.

I do not mind using the white gate card ( I would prefer a transponder). The problem I see is when the Police, EMS, or Fire Fighters have to stop and get out of their vehicles to reach the red button to gain access to the community. This is especially hard for the firefighters...often supposed to be first on the scene. First responders should not have to stop to do that...they should have a way to gain access where they just drive in any of our gates. the rest of us don't need to be in a hurry.

Doesn’t seem to work w/ deep tinted glass.
