It'll never happen, as they won't be able to compete on a physical basis. Your analogy fails to consider the developmental changes that occur during puberty...

(And I'm not talking about sports not requiring strength and stamina, such as archery, skeet shooting, etc...)

When that starts happening I’m sure there will be a discussion about it. Do you have an example today?

I think that an important part of my post was overlooked. I said to pretend that we were in the FUTURE in the year 2100. And there could be some strange and unpredictable changes in GENDER FLUIDITY. It was like a thought experiment.....a way to look at the subject differently.

Thought? What is that?

Please show me where this has ever happened (except in your imagination)...

Actually, the government (ideally) takes care of people that, for many reasons, can't take care of themselves. It reaches out a hand to lift up people. Help them to get healthcare and a roof over their head. It gives them human dignity. Not everyone is 100% fit to work hard. Many wish that they were. Life is like the luck of the draw and not everyone comes out lucky. Some have at birth disadvantages that you and I would not be able to overcome no matter how hard we tried.

No one suggested there shouldn't be a "safety net"...

But admitting that would destroy your argument...

So....does anyone remember the Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King match?

Imagine Mr. Riggs was transgender. Anyone wanna guess whether that skinny little wuss of a man (even as a woman) would stand a chance against Billie Jean. She worked hard to become a true athlete. He worked hard at working his misogynist mouth off.

Athletes are athletes. If a transgender beat a woman in a particular sport, what was the time differential in the finish. If it was just milliseconds or even seconds, it seems to me that it is just a matter of training. And if the birth woman beat the transgender entrant, perhaps it is due to her very early training in the sport which may have been denied the transgender entrant?

It seems like this thread is making a mountain out of a molehill. I suspect Fox Opinion News has something to do with it. It would appear that so many on this thread are twisting their hankies into knots, crying how unfair....when one must wonder how unfair it really is...if at all!

No idea what this has to do with the discussion, but sure, why not...

I guess you're unaware of the kids being robbed (and even killed) over their expensive sneakers and jackets in the poorer PUBLIC schools...
I am aware of crime in poor areas. But, in a country with the highest GNP in the world, I would ask WHY ARE THERE ANY POOR AREAS! Is it because the powers that BE
have made it that way and they like it that way? The US is ranked only about 30th in UPWARD MOBILITY in the world. Sweden, Finland, and Norway kill us and are in the top ten. I ask YOU, WHY IS THIS, why IS the US so far behind? Are we inhuman, non-caring beasts comparatively?
........If you don't understand the tax policy set up to accommodate the rich in the US compared to Sweden. Or you choose to look away. If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. And in the US, there are a lot of problems. And most shield their eyes and pretend that we are #1. #1 at what? Stealing from the poor and giving to the rich?

He was also 26 years older than she was (55 vs 29), and no longer playing competitive tennis so there's that...

But nice try...

I'd explain it to you, but it would have to be a political post and I don't want another vacation... But there are benefits to keeping people dependent on government support...

Oh, and much of their success comes from parental involvement...

I remember one "Back to School Night". A new teacher walked into his "standing room only classroom, thinking many of us were in the wrong room. When he was assured we were all in the right place, he commented that he had never had that many people over the entire night as he did in his first period class...
School quality and teacher salaries are PURPOSELY kept down by low property taxes (which benefits people that have high property values. The people passing the property taxes are defending themselves against paying a high tax bill. Some call that the "fox guarding the henhouse"

Methinks it's YOU who doesn't understand the tax policy...

When 50% of the population pay ZERO federal income taxes (and actually get "refunds" for paying nothing), yes, we have a problem.

If you were really aware of Sweden's tax rates, you would know that EVERYONE pays. They also have a 25% VAT that EVERYONE pays...

Not many places where they have to educate a lot of kids have low property taxes. At least that is what I see in the world I live in.
