Parking on the sidewalk just outside of the door would make the walk even shorter. That is the logic being used above.

It wasn’t a parking area, but those who felt special parked on the grass, sit in their golf cart with a view of the back of the boxcar, drinking whatever they packed in their cooler. It wasn’t a handicap parking, those are in the paved lot. Have never been to Sawgrass, that parking was not available.

Some just feel too special to park in the designated areas. Guessing they are also the chosen few who park in the fire lane when they go shopping.
Actually that little strip of land (and the MMP) are owned by The VIllages CDD, not the developer

District 13's board is still made up of developer appointees.

On the rare occasions we go to Brownwood, most golf carts want to park along the square or one of the roads, like right in front of City Fire. We park in one of the parking lots where there are very few carts.

At Sawgrass, cars and carts will be parking in the same lots. The way some cart drivers whip around, there might be more pedestrian injuries.
There are ALWAYS cars and carts parked in the big parking lots. Especially in the evenings and on Market Nights...

Sorry, but your issues are the same for many in a retirement community. If you have someone with you the best walker can drop off.

Yesterday at lap lanes, I parked next to a WW2 guy getting out of his cart. He could barely walk, but was heading in to swim. He didn’t park next to the sidewalk or entry, but in a non handicap spot.

I said take your time, I will get a lane for you. I took the closest lane, sat down and waited. I waited 11 minutes before his smiling face arrived at the lane. I thanked him for his service to our country, and gave him my lane. Saving lanes is not allowed, but I could give up my lane and it was an honor.

After he finished I took the lane, yep I had to wait, but his smile when he left and a thank you for being so kind, was all one needs to make their day better.

So no matter how many issues you think you have, there are always those who have a little more.

$35000 to landscape that little strip of land which is really not visible to anyone other than from the parking lot to prevent golf cart parking. Wonder how much it would have cost to pave over that postage stamp area and stripe it for golf carts only. Having golf carts parked in an orderly line like a cruise night is something I would enjoy more than that little strip of grass. To me it would add to the ambience of the area and reinforce the fact that we are a golf cart community. Don't start - I did not say pave paradise and put up a parking lot.

As you know, we are not a golf cart community.

Sure, a lot of people have golf carts, but the law does give them any special rights. They have their own paths and bridges where I cannot drive my car, but every time one of their paths intersects the road where I am driving, they have a stop sign.

Which makes me wonder how to complete this sentence:

The difference between the Villages and a golf cart community is _________

There NEVER EVER WAS AUTHORIZED parking on the grass. Everyone who parked there kind of knew that and were semi conscious of the issue. The Villages and CD knew about the situation well beforehand, but it was advantageous to wait till the snowbirds left. The delay permitted businesses to take root and establish clientele. The timing was impeccable for all.

Hmmm, I don’t know that. See the sign on Morse Blvd. that says welcome to the Villages, a golf cart community!

Now that we've solved this issue, can we get the CDDs to pave some parking lots next to all the greens on the golf courses?!
