I'm aware there are power lines north of 44, just not along Morse Blvd. You are referring to my comment that I made in another thread about no overhead power lines on Morse Blvd. north of 44. When you head south of 44, Morse Blvd (or whatever it is called south of 44) has one side of the road lined with telephone poles and overhead power lines. It just does not look as nice as Morse north 44 because all utilities are underground.

As for the adult pools, I have learned something today that not all villages have an adult pool.

Agree...they are called country clubs but they are not more than restaurants on the golf courses. They do have beautiful views though.

I wonder why we were told that every village had an adult pool, located at the mail center. I guess our sales rep did not tell us the truth.

I know that Bridgeport at Laurel Valley on 466 does not have a pool. It is a very small premier neighborhood with about 70 homes. A large number of the homes have their own pool.

Thank you. I had no idea.

It's possible that sometimes we hear what we want to hear too. My memory is not as good as it once was.

Add Piedmont to the villages I listed in post #75 and you have 7 villages , all touching each other with no adult pool. I'm sure your agent knew that and didn't have to lie to sell to you. I know my agent and I didn't even discuss pools.

We have both less than a quarter mile from Linden. 😎

There are the Village Rec Centers, but those are family pools. In the past, when a new village was started, the first thing built was the postal station and neighborhood pool. Has this become a thing of the past?
Why don't you ask the Developer or Parks and Rec administrators?

Wink

If you complain loud enough I'm sure they will build a pool for you...

Bridgeport at Laurel Valley is just a local neighborhood inside of Bridgeport Village, which has an adult pool.

Just like Osceola Hills at Soaring Eagle is a local neighborhood inside of Osceola Hills Village, which has both adult and family pools.

So is there any Village north of 44 that has no adult pool?

But that's okay.....I am fine with them not being aware of all that we have including the neighbourhood restaurants like Fenney Grill and soon to come Harry and the natives. Edna's on the Green Truck stop and entertainment - so amazing. Country Club food??? Too bad you are so far from Coney Island, O'shucks, Cotillian, Oakwood BBQ, Willies, Reveille etc. The soon to be finished boardwalk and water activies that will be at Okahumpka. Yeah we may not have as many big box stores that are in Lady Lake but I am just fine with only having to travel there once in a while to do a big shop than have to deal with that regular traffic....or better yet hop on the turnpike and get the best stores like costco and ikea a short drive towards Orlando. Love having the ability to have all my gas appliances in our newer areas - they cook better and dry clothing better and way cheaper than electric. All areas have their + and - qualities but writing off an area that you really know nothing about is both inaccurate and unkind. Get your facts straight before you start bashing the newer areas.
While I agree with most of your comment, you’re incorrect about the mail station at Richmond. It’s located at Clarendon Rec Center where the family pool is located. 😊

I remember being told by the salesperson we dealt with when purchasing our home in The Villages that every village has their own adult pool but we would be able to go to any of the adult pools. We were also told that all the amenities of each village, including the adult pools, would be built before any homes were sold in the village.
That’s not happening in Richmond! Tons of homes sold already and neither pool is finished.

So one would ask why does one move from the North that is so much better, to the south? And are very happy they did.
Maybe because the house they bought was now outdated and rather than spend the time and money to "re-do" the house, they chose to buy new?

Maybe they had lousy neighbors and saw it as a chance to "escape"?

Maybe they wanted a smaller/bigger home and they found a new home that fit the bill?

We looked at a re-sale in Osceola Hills. The seller was building the exact same home in Bradford, on a "view lot", because "she liked to look at the birds"...

There are lots of reasons people move...
