This place, very near The Villages, makes their living from Pickleball and they are locking out until at least mid-month, so folks shouldn't make it seem like it is just a Villages issue.

I hope they're not worried about this because there would be no way a person could pinpoint getting infected at the pickleball courts. We could get infected anywhere.

On another note, can anyone justify why basketball is reopening but not pickleball? Basketball players get much closer together than picklers. If the concern is waiting in line, maybe 6' markers on the sidewalk would help (like they've put near the cash registers in some stores). The crowd would self-enforce, because I'm sure someone in line will yell at anyone who is violating the rule.

So - you say that rules will be violated. You are so right about that.

What makes golf so special.... The Villages collects money form the golfers, that’s probably why it was never shut down.

If I don't play I don't want anyone else to play. Seems to be the mentality.

No non-players/spectators inside the court area. I am sure that there would have to be rules, safeguards and some level of supervision to keep non-player out and make the courts available and safe.
So, does anyone think this is an idea worth pursuing?
Most tennis in the Villages is played like this. Courts are reserved for a two hour period by one person. Their email list determines who plays that day. Only four people per court show up and play. No spectators or extra people on the court.
