No wall is going to eliminate traffic noise from the turnpike. You WILL hear the traffic, especially at night. Walls and berms can soften the noise, but it is still there. Some people are more sensitive to traffic noise than others, so if you fall into that group, be forewarned.

I bought off of Mulligan Run, close to the golf course and Sawgrass. I went to the property 4-5 times during different times of day to listen for traffic or turnpike noise before I purchased the home. When in doubt, pick a different home. One thing I learned is: If it does not feel right - wait - something nicer will come along! Don't rush it!

We live outside the villages right down the road one more or so from route 44. It's very quiet in Penbbrooke Fairways and half the price of The villages but of course the homes are older and not new . We used to live at the plantation and they had a newer section with 1,000 homes 4 or 8 miles from the turnpike and it was extremely noisy at all times of the day because the area was a marsh and flat with no trees. I strongly urge you if you have any preconceptions Not to buy near the turnpike. If you want new buy a three or a four year old house and let your wife go wild and spend some money redoing the kitchen twice and repainting , after a couple of years in a new home it's not new anymore and it really doesn't matter. Besides which an older home everything has been fixed that the builder screwed up.

electric cars and electric trucks are the answer! The Turnpike is going to have more traffic and exhaust pollution... Better Explore your options! one jake brake for me would do it..,

We are in Chitty Chatty - check here, Bradford and St Catherines - all the new areas south of 44. Just check distance from highways. We have no problems here other than BUGS !!!

We bought sight unseen in Citrus Grove, about 1/4-1/2 mile away from the turnpike. Inside the house we can’t hear anything from the road. While out walking the dogs we can hear a low hum and it gets a little louder when someone drives over a rumble strip. We are very happy with our purchase and don’t consider the turnpike to be a noise nuisance at all. Yes you hear a little something off in the distance but not enough to be annoying to us.

He’s wrong you’ll hear it. Good idea is go at night when it’s quiet and listen. That’s when it would bother you most.

Your agent is trying to sell you a house so don’t take his word for it. I lived a mile from the freeway with nothing but open ground between me and the cars you could hear it outside but not inside. People who bought thre were trying to get the developer to put up a sound wall and he said no they knew it was there when they bought.

we looked over there, having been in Florida for close to 20 years here's what I can tell you about the location.

Yes you can hear the hum of the turnpike, sometimes louder sometimes softer. What you are missing is all the rest, the most important is that when an accident happens on that turnpike it's a parking lot. While those accidents aren't every day like I-4 they aren't so few either. So the day when a tanker flips over anyone in that area is not going to be all that happy.

You are about as far from the turnpike as possible, on the East side...

I would advise against it. You will hear the noise and you won’t be happy. At night and in the mornings it’s pretty loud.

The Berms aren’t helpful at all. It’s still loud.
