Default Amenity Bill

Just got my bill and noticed that my Amenity Bill went up $10.00.

Anyone else see this?

When we moved here three years ago, it was $135. Then it went to $140. This month's bill is $150.

Please remind me of the rule again. Is it that it can only go up as much as the CPI or is there a set percentage?

Hey Doc, I was under the impression from reading the closing docs four years ago, that the increase is tied to the CPI, but there is a cap. Maybe somebody will jump in and set us both straight.

If I recall correctly, it is tied to the CPI and can increase annually.

Ours started out at $145 when we moved in at the end of 2012. It has increased twice and is now a little over $150.

Also, Doc...if you move to another house in The Villages your amenity fee will be whatever the prevailing rate is at that time, not what you were paying before.

When I moved into my home in Silver Lake last year it was 145. A few months ago it went up to 153. I called about it and was told Amenities increase here every 3 years from the date your house was built.

The Deed Restrictions vary by unit. You can check at the following website. The language for increasing the amenities fee should be in there.

Village Community Development Districts
