Could you give me the particulars? Where, when and how much. Did the machine have an upholstery attachment? I could hire someone but I'm pressed for time and most of the house that's carpeted doesn't get used.

thank-you

Winn Dixie and Publix rent them for around $30 a day if you also want the attachment. Plus you need to buy the cleaning solution. The results of how it works, in my opinion, is nothing to write home about. In fact, I ended up calling Stanley Steemer, who do a much better job.

I'm crossing my fingers that someone rented from Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware or places I've never heard about and had outstanding results. Maybe they bought the cleaning fluid from another store.

I rented from a grocery store 30 years ago and it was not so good. And maybe things are different today.

Ace and Lowe's rent Bissell. RugDoctor is the other brand the majority of grocery stores rent. Bottom line is that the machine is just not comparable to a professional service.

Look at this review of the big green bissell. 4.8 out of 5 with 2,400 reviews.
Amazon.com: Bissell 86T3/86T3Q Big Green Deep Cleaning Professional Grade Carpet Cleaner Machine: Home & Kitchen

That sounds pretty impressive.
There's a "questionable" video too.
