The Villages Taxi is relatively cheap at $40 each way to MCO, but anywhere else is high. For example, they want $185 each way to the Medical offices at Shands in Gainesville. Should have a reasonable price there too.

Anyone know of cheaper Taxis in the area?

does anyone have experience in general with taxi service within the villages -- not out of the villages -- I will have need of such service for approximately 5 weeks and do not know where to start to look for a taxi that will come to my home -- deliver me to my destination within 4 miles and then come back to take me home again (I can call) when my errand is complete -- thank you for any and all information that you can give me

Can you drive? You could rent a golf cart for that.

Many private operators will beat that price. Some are listed in the Daily Sun.

thank you for your input -- no I will not be able to drive any vehicle -- looking for someone's experience with Taxi's if there is any -- I want to be able to call a number and have someone come to my house and deliver me to my destination and then I will call them again when I have to return home -- the comments in this forum have put me off the "villages taxi" being able to do that -- thank you

The Yellow Pages shows two listings for taxis. Why don't you call each and inquire? Good luck.
