Default Outdoor Kitchen Gas Grill Installed by TV

Rented a house last week in the Village of St Charles which had a outdoor grill installed by the developer. I was under the impression that there were no gas lines being installed in new areas. My question is on the gas connection for these outdoor grills. The stove and oven were electric. Can anybody provide an answer on the source of the gas?
