Default Plans for roads southeast of TV

Interesting article in the Leesburg Daily Commercial about Lake County's plan for CR 466A, and Sumter County's plan for CR 468.

I think that 468 is the road that will become the exit off the turnpike that will take you directly to the villages. I seem to recall previous conversations on TOTV about this.

I'm truly not looking forward to the construction of 466A through Fruitland Park, it will be so hard to get around. But its inevitable so we must endure.

I also hope they finish the construction on 441 as this seems to be going on for a while.

Does anyone know when this project is going to be finished?

It would be nice to be able to make the left onto 466, but must go to 25A and head south to get back onto 466A. I know there is a road that one can make a left onto, but I seem to always pass it every time, as it is difficult to spot with all those barrels. I was lucky last week as I made this turn and wound up exactly at the place I wanted to go to.

Oh well, I guess patience is a good thing.

Who knows when it will be completed. Its been going on forever..... feel like its been 4 years.. well, maybe close to that. So many businesses are being hurt by that construction. It literally shut down Bob Evans in Leesburg because of the reduction in customers.

Also the construction on 466A towards 301 is a pain. Hope that gets completed soon.

I've been here since 2004 and 441 has been under some sort of construction since then. AND I'm sure before that! Seems like a 'constant'.

Also I don't think 466A will be too bad. We went through the 466 widening from Morse to 441 and I can't say there was much impact at all. You just have to find alternatives.

And 468 is a county road that travels south off 466a in Fruitland Park. It's just a half mile or so from 441 at that point. If you take it south it's a great by-pass of 441 through Leesburg all that way to the south end near the hospital. May not be much faster but ALLOT less frustrating!

SUMTER COUNTY, FL. (October 1, 2013) Construction will begin for the C-466A widening project on Sunday, October 6, 2013. The project will include construction of left turn lanes for additional capacity, bicycle lanes, widened sidewalks, enhanced landscape features, and improved utilities. Roadway construction is scheduled through September 2014.

From OP link................

Plans call for four-laned Morse Boulevard to be extended south to State Road 44 and hook up with County Road 468. Plans already are under way to four-lane CR 468 from SR 44 south to the Florida Turnpike, where a new interchange will be built.

The 468 you refer to is in Lake County. The 468 in the article is in Sumter County ... two different roads. I never noticed how close they were to each other until you posted this.

OOPS - In 9 years I've probably traveled 44 east or west only 2-3 times - never noticed the 468 CR there. Sorry for the mis-information.
