Default Changing of the Guard

It seems like the Next Generation of Retirees are moving in with more Liberal views on our established rules. Golf cart governor over-rides, pool IDs, AirBnbs, parking trailers in driveways, going around the ARC process, it goes on and on, and neighbors are afraid to report, and confront their neighbors about these infractions. I guess being "soft" is going to be make The Villages just another " all about me" neighborhood.. It's getting old fast.

Rules without enforcement are merely suggestions.

So your thoughts are residents are “Afraid”. Sometimes 50 complaints filed weekly, wouldn’t come close to say someone has that worry. Sometimes complaint’s are filed for something done more than 10 years ago in the north.

I agree TV was mostly multi or long term rentals, with the occasional visiting family needing a week because parents ran out of room.
It seems some homes are bought by agents for that one year turn over, using Abnb as a quick profit with zero worry about neighbors, then quick sale at one year mark. I swim laps and my I’d is checked every Sports pool.

To worry about so much on your list, running for a official position, might help you process things better.

I am pretty much passed by every golf cart when out. I have an operating governor that keeps me just below 20 MPH.

And it has been that way since we got that golf cart. This was probably around 2015.

Right, it's only the younger folks who break the rules.

I'm not sure why the things described here are considered "liberal?" If you override the golf car governor, that's a liberal thing? There are plenty of adjectives for the behaviors you describe, but I don't think they have anything to do with the age of the retirees or their politics.

We travel below 44 maybe twice weekly also noticed the Wildwood PD seems to be doing their job pulling over speeders. Not saying Sumter County Sheriff seem to be slacking in their responsibility.

We just got a new Yamaha and it tops out at 20. Most of the time, it's at 19, even on flat ground. And yes, we get passed quite a bit. But I am not in a hurry to get anywhere when I'm in a golf car. If I have to get there fast, I will take my car.

Bonus living south of 44 is Wildwood PD. It’s definitely a take charge department on speeding. Very happy to see that after living in LSL area.

Even traveling at wee hours, you will see a cruiser out and about. Great site to see police presence, @ BV crossing 44m at 3am. I wave every time.
