My wife and I are coming to our Villages home and are interested in having our groceries delivered to our home to avoid taking any unnecessary Covid exposure risk. We are actually very excited to do this since up north we live in such a rural area that home grocery delivery, or meal delivery from a restaurant, are not an option. We prefer to shop at the Publix (in Spanish Springs) when we are at our Villages home. Does anyone have experience doing this?

I did a search on Publix home delivery and from what I can tell we can either use instacart (whatever that is) or Club P? Since we have never done this before we are hoping others can share their home delivery experience and recommend what delivery service you have had positive experiences with. For what it is worth, I am old school and will not use any service that requires me to download their app to my phone. Thanks : )

When you logged in to this site, Publix has a banner, click on it, click on delivery, click on Instacart,..... pretty simple. Old school or not... pretty simple.... I've used it often since I love Publix. It asks for your email, and your name.... done.....Publix is a class act, they have an old school feel, good price, respect the customer, etc.....no app for your phone.....

Very simple. Get an Instacart account, chose Publix from it. They gave me 2 weeks free trial home delivery. Then pick the groceries you want. A shopper will select for you, my personal shopper texted me as they shopped for any replacements, how green the bananas I want etc. You can pay by credit card including the tip. Delivery is to your house in 2 hours usually. They can leave it outside your door if you want contactless delivery. Or bring it into your kitchen. Very safe. Then I wash all grocery items with soapy suds in the sink. Or wipe the packaging down. Ready to put stuff away.

We have switched entirely to grocery delivery for the last few months and have been pleased with the service.

You can access Instacart directly through your computer browser; no phone app required. The website has a chat feature that allows customers to send and receive messages from their shoppers.

In our area, Instacart delivers from Publix, Sams Club, Target, Fresh Market, Aldi, BJ's Wholesale, Staples, CVS, Petco, ABC Liquor, and The Vitamin Shoppe.

There is a price markup so that items cost more than they do in the store. That, along with various fees and the driver tip, usually add around $25 to the price of an order. Our customer experience with Instacart has been good and orders are almost always delivered within the promised 2-hour window.

Walmart has its own delivery service. There are no price markups and you can get an annual subscription at $8/month for unlimited free delivery.

Grubhub and DoorDash are available for restaurant food.

I have been using Publix delivery and Walmart pick up successfully.

Trailwinds Publix just opened and now has curbside pickup which I really love.

I try to stay home as much as I can.

My experience with Instacart was not good. Incorrect items, meat prices that did not match the receipt, and high extra charges. We even had a neighbor’s that had a delivery dropped at her door that belonged to someone else. Instacart did not help, Publix couldn’t help and of course she didn’t know who the driver was as it was not her order.

Wal-Mart pick-up was great. If you can’t or choose not to pick up, I would go with the delivery at $8 a month vs $20 or $25 per order with Instacart. Just my opinion. If it works for you and you don’t mind the extra charges, that’s great. In these times we have to do what works best for us.

Where I live instacart delivers to quite a rural distance. We are total fans! If you pay the yearly $99 fee instacart provides unlimited free deliveries. We do all our shopping from Publix via instacart. We have never had a problem ... our costs are not high, especially since we have a 28 mile country road round trip it saves us a lot in terms of time and fuel. Well worth the cost of the tip snd slightly higher overall prices.

It's nice to have this service available and glad to hear so many positive accolades on it. That said, it's really pretty safe shopping at Publix here in TV. Everyone wears a mask, they wipe down the carts...everyone pretty much follows the 'one way' aisle markers and honors social distancing...we only go at times that we know it will be less crowded (supper hour)

Sad to say, but going grocery shopping is among the few things that get us out of the house and we look forward to!

Publix charges higher than in store prices when ordering delivery. Plus delivery and service extra fees.

Use Walmart. Same pricing as in store. Pick up at store contactless outside for free, or delivery for a $9 fee.

Walmart saves about 25% on cost compared to Publix upcharging

How do you do the curbside pick up at the Trailwinds Publix? (Where do you find the ordering information and pick up times available etc)

I use both Publix (through Instacart) and Walmart curbside pickup. Identical shopping card is cheaper at Walmart, and the curbside delivery gets you out of the house with "no contact" with anyone. (Does great things for your sanity!) You pull up to the designated space and they come out and put the groceries in your trunk. I have also found Walmart to have fewer substitutions or "out of stock" items. Good luck!

We found using Publix delivery costs much more for the same products and, in most cases, the same quality as Walmart’s delivery. The only item we buy elsewhere is Sams meats, where we use their curbside pickup.

Also you could do grocery pickup from Walmart. No markup on prices. Just drive up and they open the trunk and put all in there. No contact. I love it.

We use instacart for Publix. We get store prices and specials offers for many items. Instacort will also shop at other stores. $9.99/ month.

The shopper will text you if your item is not in stock. They will ask if you want a substitute too!
