Default Palm Frond pickup

Since I moved here, I have seen many homes with whole palm fronds left for the greens pickup. The fronds I have cut off have been left at the curb whole and were picked up by the truck on Wednesday. Yesterday I left two big fronds and a tied bundle of Robellini fronds to be picked up. When I got home, they had picked up the bundle but left the big fronds. I called the trash people and was informed they will not pick up fronds longer than 6 feet. They have to be cut and tied up to be picked up. I forgot to ask if this is a new policy or just renewed enforcement of and existing policy. BTW, I live south of 466. I think that makes a difference.

They don't like the fronds to be wider than the truck body. Generally, if I have really long fronds, more than 6' or 7', I just fold them in half and they pick them up.

They used to pick them up for me, no matter what shape or size. About a month ago they left some, once I cut them down they picked them up.
